Consider strong passwords. Long and random, not something simple like 123456. Look into a password manager.
A strong consideration is to get a VPN, which stands for Virtual Private Network. This encrypts traffic and protects you on any network. That is particularly helpful on an unfamiliar network, such as a coffee shop in Downtown Toronto. Without a VPN, someone could actively be monitoring your activity as you "quickly pay off" the credit card bill due in 2 days.

Default to going with zero trust. Only with full knowledge should you proceed in tasks. And go with the minimum required permissions when using anything. So if you don't intend to use the camera or microphone, DO NOT GIVE THE PERMISSION! If the app on your iPhone only needs one of your 279 photos, just allow THAT ONE PHOTO.
